Yep, definitely milk.

Sophie’s stool is now a weird mustard color and full of what looks like tiny grains of rice, which is what they tell me it should be. But, then, they could tell me it should be bright blue and singing in Italian and, at this point, I would believe them; I have become completely dependent upon the literature, which is slightly unusual for me. But, anyway, I guess that means the baby’s now getting some decent nutrition, so I can concentrate on feeding my wife and keeping her alive. Read More »

Co-sleeping already.

Christy thought her milk was starting to come in, and indeed Sophie seems to be calming down more — and for longer — with each feeding. This means we’ve been sleeping a lot better, but that could also have something to do with our Hence, sunburn and skin cancer don’t affect cheap cialis soft a user. We’re home. And it feels good. Indescribably good. I’ve already had to run into work briefly to log the guys into a piece of server software they’re installing, but that gave me an excuse to be out on the road, wind in my hair. I also bought new batteries for my wireless keyboard, which turned out to be unnecessary (as I thought, since I’d only put the batteries in last week); it appears that the baby monitor broadcasts on the same frequency as the keyboard. After a blissful few hours, Sophie was returned to us, fast asleep and clearly happy. We found out why, though: the nursery gave her a cup feeding to settle her down. This upsets Christy more than it upsets me, as I think Sophie’s doing plenty of sucking; it’s not like Christy’s breasts are being insufficiently stimulated. The nurse, Barbara, also offers to teach us how to cup feed on our own, if it takes a few more days for milk to show up; we take her up on the offer, as there’s some evidence that cup feeding is far better for breast-fed babies than normal bottle feeding.

I feel kind of sorry about doing this, and very remiss in my duties, but I can justify it to myself by saying that Christy needs the sleep. It doesn’t bode well for tomorrow night, though.
