Honeymoon Journal

Sunday, May 28:
We woke up early to hike for a few hours in Killarney National Park, sidestepping the much-used horse trails to the Torc Waterfall - a revitalizing walk, despite the rain, and a much-needed break from driving. Killarney itself is absolutely gorgeous, and I'd like to go back sometime to spend more time in the park. As always, the trails ran right alongside several cow-trods and featured several "jaunting cars," horse-drawn buggies driven by somewhat desperate cabbies that appeared to be the major form of in-park transportation.

We weren't sure how long it would take us to get back to Shannon, so we drove back, dropped off the car, and then wound up waiting four hours for our (much-delayed) flight to London. Once there, we decided to overpay for a good hotel close to the tube; Tom ran out for take-away since I wasn't feeling well and wound up walking a half-mile through driving rain back to the hotel -- but the pizza survived.
